South Area meeting, 12th November

by aldc on 3 November, 2012

Cambridge City Council has just published the agenda for the next South Area meeting on Monday 12th November. It will be held at the Cherry Hinton Village Centre and start at 7.30 p.m. The meeting is open to the public and begins with an Open Forum for public questions and comments. Here is a link to the agenda.

The meeting will consider:

  • Community development and leisure grants – including new camping equipment for St James’s Scouts, the Wulfstan Way Christmas Lights event and publicity to support the Jubilee public art project in Queen Edith’s.
  • A community café proposal for Cherry Hinton Library
  • Developer-funded projects – this arises from contributions from building developers to offset the impact of their developments, required under Section 106 of the Town & Country Planning Act. A meeting was held in October to discuss what projects might best meet the community’s needs, and the South Area meeting will be prioritising them. There is a lengthy list of projects: the ones relevant to Queen Edith’s are listed here. S106 projects

No planning applications will be determined. Instead, they will be considered at a separate meeting on the 19th November at the Guildhall.
