THANK YOU to the hundreds of local people who supported our petition for a station at Addenbrooke’s. We believe a station on the Biomedical Campus could play an important part in reducing car movements to the area, and consequently commuter and visitor parking.
Infrastructure consultants John Laing has been working on a feasibility study and has announced that a station could be built as soon as 2017, using just two tracks initially.
Much will depend on identifying funding but it is thought there is excellent potential for private investment, given the draw of the expanding campus and its business potential, alongside other transport links such as the bus station and Guided Busway.
Provisional options have been drawn up include three locations and timetabling for trains coming from the existing Cambridge station, plus Whittlesford, Meldreth, Royston, Stansted Airport, London Liverpool Street and London Kings Cross.

I think this is a very good idea. I am sure it will cut down on traffic to Addenbrookes and help to ease the street parking in the areas adjacent to the Hospital
