The Local Government Boundary Commission has been reviewing the county council divisions, to reduce the number of councillors and partly to even out numbers.
Subject to approval in Parliament, Queen Edith’s is to be merged with Trumpington for county council purposes. The new double ward will run from Chaucer Road and Clifton Way in the north to Shelford Road and Hauxton Road in the south, spanning a third of the city, and it will have two county councillors. The merger was decided despite opposition from residents’ associations, the County Council and all five political parties represented on it.
A full interactive map of the new county-wide boundaries is on the Boundary Commission’s website.
