Last weekend the County Council made a start on tarmacking the new cycle lanes on Hills Road – and it is a great relief that the work has begun. They have completed the section between Holbrook and Glebe Roads, and cyclists have been riding on it this week.
They plan to do the next stretch this Sunday, Sunday, 26 July and possibly do some next weekend too. The road is not actually closed, but there are temporary traffic lights and there are more people sharing tight space, so take a different route if you can.
The County Council cycling team manager has told me he will attend the autumn South Area meeting in October.
