South Area Committee meets next Monday: policing, planning and environmental grants

by aldc on 13 July, 2013

The South Area Committee meets next Monday, at the Cherry Hinton Village Centre. Please note the earlier start time of 6.30pm. This is to allow for an unusually high number of planning applications.

The meeting opens with a public forum, followed by the setting of police priorities for the next few months, environmental grants, and planning applications.

The police priorities will be for Queen Edith’s Cherry Hinton and Trumpington. The police propose the following priorities:

  • reduce the theft of pedal cycles
  • combat the supply of drugs
  • anti-social behaviour around the Spinney School

If you have information, or other proposals, please come along and have your say.

There are several suggestions for environmental improvements in Queen Edith’s. The major one is a controlled pedestrian crossing on the approach to the Fendon Road/ Queen Edith’s Way junction, and there are also proposals for reseeding grass verges in various streets.

There are ten planning applications, including five in Queen Edith’s:

  • 19 Wort’s Causeway
  • 33 Queen Edith’s Way
  • 3 Chalk Grove
  • 4 Topcliffe Way
  • 66-8 Hartington Grove
