Our library is to be closed for a while soon — but it will open again refreshed and refurbished. Thanks to funding from the City and County Councils, and a lot of hard work by the Friends of Rock Road Library, there are exciting changes coming:

• a new community room for events, activities and exhibitions
• garden doors leading from a new children’s library area
• a new comfortable reading area in the centre of the library
• moveable shelving, to give more flexibility.

To achieve this, the library will be closed on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th April and

Monday 6th May – Friday 16th May

The garden room will also be closed on Monday 28th April – Saturday 3rd May with limited access to some collections, including large print and talking books. The toilet will also be out of service.

Other city libraries remain open for business as usual including Central Library, Cherry Hinton Library and Barnwell Road. Book renewals and ordering can be conducted online.
